2013年の『ALPHA』、2016年の『CIPHER』に続いて、ザ グレンリベットのミステリーボトルシリーズの第3弾、『CODE』は国内2380本限定で2018年に発売されました。
このシリーズは、熟成樽や熟成年数等の情報を一切非公開の状態で発売し、どんな味がするのかといった前情報を全て断った状態で、情報による先入観の無い、飲んだ人の感覚を研ぎ澄ましてウイスキーの持つ香りや味わいを楽しんで頂くというコンセプトです。
ザ・グレンリベットは「はじまりのシングルモルト」と呼ばれており、初めて政府公認となったスコッチの蒸留所です。そんな歴史深い蒸留所のマスターディスティラーであるアラン・ウィンチェスター氏からの挑戦状ともいえるシリーズです。
発売から1年後の2019年には、『CODE』の正体はアメリカンオーク樽で熟成された後、ファーストフィルのカナディアンライウイスキー樽でフィニッシュをかけたものであると公式から解答が公開されています。
その後は新作が発売されておらず、こちらがこのシリーズの最終作品となるのかもしれません。5年前の限定発売で今では中々見かけることも少なくなったボトルです。

The Glenlivet, dubbed “The Beginning Single Malt,” was the first government-approved Scotch distillery. This is a series that can be said to be a challenge from Mr. Alan Winchester, the master distiller of such a historic distillery.
In 2019, one year after its release, the official answer was that CODE was aged in American oak barrels and then finished in first-fill Canadian rye whiskey barrels. .
No new titles have been released since then, so this may be the last title in the series. It is a bottle that is rarely seen in the limited release 5 years ago.
