グレンモーレンジ エクストリームレア 18年（GLEN MORANGIE Aged 18 years EXTREMELY RARE）

『完璧すぎるモルト』、『樽のパイオニア』、『樽の魔術師』と様々な異名がついているグレンモーレンジ。ウイスキーを飲む方なら誰もが聞いた事のあるブランドかと思います。

世界的な販売数で言えばグレンリベットやマッカランに負けますが、現地スコットランドで最も飲まれているシングルモルトはグレンモーレンジだそうです。

グレンモーレンジ蒸留所は様々な樽を活用したカスクフィニッシュに力を入れていて、それを活かした数多くのユニークなボトルを世に送り出しています。グレンモーレンジ蒸留所では基本的に全てのウイスキーをバーボン樽で10年以上熟成させてからカスクフィニッシュに移行しています。

こちらは、18年熟成のバーボン樽原酒と、15年熟成の後オロロソシェリー樽で3年の追熟を施した原酒を掛け合わせて作られました。

多種多様でユニークな限定品ボトルに対し、18年は忠実にハウススタイルを貫いた正統派のグレンモーレンジ、「究極のエレガント」と呼ばれています。

1990年代初頭に初リリースされたグレンモーレンジ18年、その名称が2024年8月より「エクストリームレア」から「ザ・インフィニータ」へと変わっていますが、当店でご用意しているのは変更前のボトルです。

幾度かボトルデザインや名称は変更されていますが、グレンモーレンジ蒸留所の伝統とこだわりは変わる事なくエレガントなグレンモーレンジのフラグシップ。長熟らしい深みのある味わいとパパイヤのような果実香をぜひお楽しみください。

 

Glenmorangie has been nicknamed “the perfect malt,” “the cask pioneer,” and “the cask magician.” It’s a brand that any whiskey drinker has probably heard of.

While it trails Glenlivet and Macallan in global sales, Glenmorangie is said to be the most popular single malt in Scotland.

Glenmorangie Distillery focuses on cask finishing, utilizing a variety of casks, and has produced many unique bottles that make use of this. At Glenmorangie Distillery, all whiskey is generally aged in bourbon casks for more than 10 years before transitioning to cask finishing.

This whiskey is a combination of 18-year-old bourbon cask aged whiskey and 15-year-old whiskey that was then further aged for three years in Oloroso sherry casks.

While there are a wide variety of unique limited edition bottles, the Aged 18 years is a classic Glenmorangie that stays true to its house style and has been called “the ultimate in elegance.”

First released in the early 1990s, Glenmorangie Aged18 years will change its name from “Extreme Rare” to “The Infinita” from August 2024, but the bottle we have available in our shop is the one before the change.

Although the bottle design and name have changed several times, the tradition and commitment of the Glenmorangie distillery remain unchanged, making this elegant Glenmorangie flagship whisky. Please enjoy the deep flavor that comes from long aging and the papaya-like fruity aroma.
