このガチョウ軍団は「スコッチウォッチ」と呼ばれ、国際的なテレビや雑誌などで紹介され、レコードのジャケットになるほど人気を催しました。

Ballantine’s history began in 1869 when George Ballantine began learning about whisky-blending. It is a famous blended whisky that everyone in Japan has heard of at least once.
In 1895, it gradually became accepted by the upper class, and was finally given a royal warrant by Queen Victoria at the time.
The Ballantine Coat of Arms, awarded by the Scottish College of Arms, depicts the four essential elements of whisky-making: barley, water, pot still, and cask.
The Coat of Arms is a very traditional and important thing in Scotland and represents the importance that Ballantine’s places on culture and tradition.
Ballantine’s is also famous for using geese to guard the aging barrel storage area.
Geese are wary creatures, and were bred to protect aging whiskey from thieves by making use of their habit of making loud noises when strangers approach.
This army of geese was called the “Scotch Watch” and was featured on international television and magazines, and became so popular that it was featured on record jackets.
