グレンモーレンジ　ア・テイル・オブ・スパイス（GLEN MORANGIE A TALE OF SPICE）

ウイスキー愛好家には言わずと知れたグレンモーレンジの人気シリーズである、“ア・テイル・オブ シリーズ”の第６弾が2025年にリリースされました。

名前の通り、最高蒸留・製造責任者のビル・ラムズデン博士が世界各所のスパイスの名産地からひらめきを得て、試行錯誤の末様々な角度から検証され新たに生み出されました。

このボトルではモーレンジ史上初となるモロッコ産のワイン樽をはじめとした4種類の樽でカスクフィニッシュされた原酒を掛け合わせている特別なボトルとなっております。

他には、ペドロヒメネスのシェリー樽、ニューチャードオーク樽、シェービング＆トーストした赤ワイン樽を組み合わせ、それぞれの個性が幾重にも重なって芳醇で奥深い香りが表現されています。

グレンモーレンジの一つの特徴ですが、スコットランドにある蒸溜所の中で最も背の高いポットスチルを使用しており、その高さはグレンモーレンジのシンボルでもあるキリンの大人の全長とほとんど同じで5.13mもあります。この特徴的な蒸留器で蒸留することにより、グレンモーレンジ特有の繊細で軽いお花畑にいるような華やかな香りが作り出されています。

ア・テイル・オブ シリーズのもう一つの特徴として、毎回異なるアーティストとコラボをし、一目見て興味を惹かれるようなボトルデザインを目指しています。

The sixth installment of Glenmorangie’s popular “A Tale of Series,” a well-known series among whisky enthusiasts, was released in 2025.

As the name suggests, Dr. Bill Lumsden, Chief Distiller and Waremaker, drew inspiration from spice-producing regions around the world, and after much trial and error and testing from various angles, a new creation was born.

This bottle is a special blend of whiskies cask-finished in four different types of casks, including Moroccan wine casks—a first in Glenmorangie’s history.

The other casks used are Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, Newchard oak casks, and shaved and toasted red wine casks, resulting in a rich and profound aroma with multiple layers of distinct characteristics.

One of Glenmorangie’s distinguishing features is its use of the tallest pot stills among its Scottish distilleries, standing at 5.13 meters—almost the same height as an adult giraffe, a symbol of Glenmorangie. This distinctive still is used to distill the whisky, creating Glenmorangie’s characteristic delicate, light, and vibrant floral aroma.

Another feature of the A Tale of series is the collaboration with a different artist each time, aiming for a bottle design that immediately catches the eye.

This bottle also boasts a striking, pop design that immediately grabs attention. It offers a stimulating, deep, spicy flavor paired with a light, elegant, and sweet floral aroma. This is a wonderful bottle that reveals a new and different side of Glenmorangie. Please enjoy it.
