イタリア、トスカーナ州ボルゲリに1981年に設立されたワイナリー、テヌータ・デル・オルネライア。
「品質を何よりも大切にしたワイン造り」を哲学としておりますが、なんと設立して10年も経たないうちに世界的名声を手に入れてきました。
ボルゲリのテロワールを最大限生かしたワイン造りで数々の賞を受賞、近代カルフォルニアワインの父と称されるロバート・モンダヴィ氏も「イタリアの宝石」と表現するなど、スーパー・タスカン屈指の生産者です。
スーパー・タスカンとは1970年代にイタリアで生まれた、ワイン法や従来の格付け基準の枠にとらわれない自由な発想で造られ、トスカーナワインを超えるワインの総称として名付けられました。元祖スーパー・タスカンとしてはサシカイアが知られておりますが、オルネライアも筆頭の一つ。
そのオルネライアのワインを搾った後のオリや搾り滓を蒸留して造られるのがオルネライアグラッパ（滓取りブランデー）。
発酵後のカベルネソーヴィニヨンとメルローの搾り滓をすぐに圧搾・蒸留し、最も素晴らしいロットのみをブレンドし9か月間樽熟成。
また、このスタイリッシュで背の高いボトルデザインのグラッパはおそらく終売品(終売年は不明)で、現在は“エリゴデル オルネライア”という別の商品が販売されております。
果実や花やシナモンなどのスパイスが混ざり合う複雑な香り。マイルドで程よく角がとれたスムースな味わい。普段、グラッパを飲まれない方もぜひいかがでしょうか。
Tenuta del Ornellaia is a winery founded in 1981 in Bolgheri, Tuscany, Italy.
Our philosophy is “wine making with quality above all else”, but we have gained worldwide fame in less than 10 years since our establishment.
It is one of the leading producers of Super Tuscan, such as Robert Mondavi, the father of modern California wine, who has won numerous awards for making wine that makes the most of Bolgheri’s terroir.
Born in Italy in the 1970s, Super Tuscan is a generic name for wines that surpass Tuscan wine, created with a free idea that is not bound by the wine law and conventional grading standards. Sashicaia is known as the original Super Tuscan, but Ornellaia is one of the first.
Ornellaia grappa is made by distilling the lees and lees after squeezing Ornellaia wine.
The fermented Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot lees are pressed and distilled immediately, blended with only the finest lots and aged for 9 months in oak barrels.
Also, this stylish and tall bottle design grappa is probably a discontinued product (unknown when it was discontinued), and now another product called “Erigo del his Ornellaia” is on sale.
A complex fragrance that mixes fruits, flowers and spices such as cinnamon. Mild, moderately rounded and smooth taste. If you don’t usually drink grappa, why not try it?
