パンチは1840年代に誕生したブランドで、その名は当時英国で流行っていた風刺雑誌の『Punch, or The London Charivari』に由来し、当初は英国市場向けに作られたブランドでした。その所以で、パンチパンチなどの化粧箱の蓋の裏には『ミスター・パンチ』という名のキャラクターが今でも描かれています。
パンチ48はハバノスS.Aの直営店である、ラ・カーサ・デル・ハバノ限定で販売されているハバノス・スペシャリスト・エクスクルーシヴシリーズの一つとして2016年から2017年ごろに発売開始されました。
同シリーズには他にもH.UpmannのコノスールAや、ポールララニャーガのピカドレスなどがあります。
名前の48はそのままリングゲージを表しており、エルモソNo.3という規格になっています。このサイズの葉巻は他にもグランドコロナと呼ばれることもあります。
リングデザインも通常品とは異なり、パンチのロゴの真ん中に48が印字されております。

Punch is a brand that was born in the 1840s, and its name comes from “Punch, or The London Charivari”, a satirical magazine that was popular in England at the time, and was originally a brand made for the British market. For that reason, the character named “Mr. Punch” is still drawn on the back of the lid of the cosmetic box such as Punch Punch.
Punch 48 was launched around 2016 and 2017 as one of the Habanos Specialist Exclusive series sold exclusively at La Casa del Habano, a directly managed store of Habanos S.A.
The series also includes H.Upmann’s Connoisseur A and Paul Larrañaga’s Picadores.
The 48 in the name represents the ring gauge as it is, and the standard is Hermoso No.3. Cigars of this size are also sometimes called Grand Coronas.
The ring design is also different from the regular product, with 48 printed in the middle of the punch logo.
