キューバシガーの王様と称される『COHIBA』が誕生したのは、長い葉巻の歴史から見ると比較的最近です。
1960年代初頭、フィデル・カストロのチーフボディガードだった、通称『チーチョ』が吸っていた葉巻をカストロがいたく気に入ったことが始まりでした。
チーチョが吸っていたのは彼の友人である巻き職人のエドゥアルド・リベラ氏が個人的に巻いたものでした。
1968年にカストロはエル・ラギート工場を建て、エドゥアルド・リベラ氏を責任者として迎え入れてコイーバを作らせました。
当初は政府要人専用のブランドでしたが、1982年に一般市場に公開されました。
シグロシリーズは1990年代に入ってから発表されたシリーズで、コロンブスのキューバ上陸により、葉巻の文化が世界へと広まった1492年から500年、5世紀を迎えたのを記念してシグロ1からシグロ5までの5種類のヴィトラをレギュラー商品としてリリース開始しました。（シグロ6のリリース開始はこれから更に数年後。）
シグロ(SIGLO)とはスペイン語で『世紀』という意味合いを持っています。
『COHIBA SIGLO Ⅱ』(通称シグロ ツー)は、リングゲージ42のペティコロナサイズ、喫煙目安時間は約40分程度のサイズです。
キューバシガーが入手しづらくなった昨今のマーケット情勢で、際立って入手が困難な『COHIBA』。多くのシガー愛好家たちを虜にしたその味わいと風格を、ぜひお愉しみください。

Considering the long history of cigars, COHIBA, which is called the king of Cuban cigars, was born relatively recently.
It all started in the early 1960s when Fidel Castro fell in love with the cigars smoked by Fidel Castro’s chief bodyguard, nicknamed “Chicho.”
What Chicho smoked was personally rolled by his friend Eduardo Rivera, a roll maker.
In 1968 Castro built the El Laguito factory and brought Eduardo Rivera in charge to make Cohiba.
Originally a brand exclusively for government dignitaries, it was opened to the general market in 1982.
The Siglo series was announced in the 1990s, and 500 years have passed since 1492 when Columbus landed in Cuba and the culture of cigars spread to the world. We have started releasing 5 types of Vitola as regular products from SIGLO 1 to SIGLO 5. (Siglo 6 will be released in a few more years.)
SIGLO means “century” in Spanish.
“COHIBA SIGLO Ⅱ” is a petty corona size with a ring gauge of 42, and the estimated smoking time is about 40 minutes.
