アメリカのバーボン市場を200年以上も引っ張ってきた名門ビーム家。その6代目当主だったブッカー・ノウ氏は、禁酒法時代以前の本来の姿をしたバーボンを蘇らせたいという思いを抱いていました。
大量生産のために合理化された現代のバーボンではなく、手間をかけることを厭わず、最高級の素材を惜しまず、人々を魅了していたかつての力強いバーボンに理想を抱き、ビーム家に残されていたかつてのバーボンレシピを元に数多くのクラフトバーボンを創りあげてきました。
その中でも代表格で最高級とされる『ブッカーズ』はまさにブッカー・ノウ氏の情熱の結晶です。
6〜8年熟成の原酒の中から最高峰に相応しいものだけを選び抜きスモールバッチでバッティング、加水や濾過は一切せず、アメリカのバーボンの法律上限度ギリギリのアルコール度数62%前後のまま瓶詰めされ、毎年数量限定で発売されています。
そのため、ボトリング毎に少しずつ味わいが違っており、それが愛好家たちを虜にする理由の一つでもあります。
『ブッカーズ』の詳しいレシピや製造方法は門外不出の秘伝で、今でもマスターディスティラリーとごく少数の人しか製造法を知らないとされています。
非常に高いアルコール度数ながらもそれを感じさせない、柔らかく滑らかで上品さを感じさせつつ、どこかフルーティさを秘めた味わい。昔から飲まれている方々にとっては全く希少なイメージはないと思いますが、数年前より毎年数量限定販売となってしまいましたので、現在はかなり入手が難しい銘柄となっております。 ぜひご堪能ください。

A representative example of this is “Bookers,” created by the “innovator” Booker Nou.
The prestigious Beam family has led the American bourbon market for over 200 years. Booker Nou, the 6th generation owner of the company, had a desire to revive bourbon in its original form before Prohibition.
Rather than the modern bourbons that have been streamlined for mass production, we have an ideal for the powerful bourbons of the past, which were time-consuming and made use of the finest ingredients, and which captivated people. We have created numerous craft bourbons based on the old bourbon recipes left behind by the Beam family.
Among them, “Booker’s”, which is considered to be the most representative and highest quality, is the fruit of Mr. Booker Know’s passion.
We select only those that are suitable for the highest quality from among unprocessed whiskey aged for 6 to 8 years, and vat them in small batches without adding any water or filtration. It is bottled with an alcohol content of around 62%, which is the legal limit for American bourbon, and is released in limited quantities every year.
Therefore, each bottling has a slightly different taste, which is one of the reasons why it captivates connoisseurs.
