その後は2006年、2007年、2008年と3回連続してトロフィーを獲得する偉業を成し遂げました。
この2008年はイチローズモルトで知られるベンチャーウイスキーの秩父蒸留所が稼働を開始した年でもあり、イチローズモルトと共に日本のウイスキーを世界に知らしめた功労者であることは間違いないでしょう。

One of the most prestigious alcohol competitions in the world is the International Spirits Challenge (ISC), organized by the British magazine Drinks International.
The first ISC was held in 1995, and every year various spirits from all over the world are evaluated in a blind tasting by a panel of judges selected from leading experts in alcohol, such as master distillers and master blenders from each distillery.
Hibiki Aged 30 years, which has won the ISC’s highest award, the trophy, many times, is Suntory’s most impressive blended whisky.
The first trophy was won in 2004. This was before the whisky boom in Japan, and it was said to be in a slump.
The world must have been surprised when a Japanese whisky suddenly appeared and won the trophy in such a situation.
It then achieved the feat of winning the trophy three times in a row in 2006, 2007, and 2008.
2008 was also the year that Venture Whisky’s Chichibu Distillery, known for Ichiro’s Malt, began operations, and there is no doubt that, along with Ichiro’s Malt, Hibiki is a valuable contributor to making Japanese whiskey known to the world.
Hibiki Aged 30 years is a precious, top-of-the-line blended whiskey, with only a few thousand bottles produced per year. It is an exquisite product made from Yamazaki, a sherry cask malt aged for over 30 years, and Hakushu and Chita, which have also been aged for a long time.
The bottle is not the 24-sided cut that is characteristic of Hibiki, but a special 30-sided cut made by Kagami Crystal, a representative of high-quality Japanese glass and also involved in Edo Kiriko.
