駒ヶ岳29年はプライベートボトリングシリーズの10周年を記念して2017年に限定発売されたものです。
駒ヶ岳を作っているのは長野県にあるマルス信州蒸留所、こちらの蒸留所は標高約800mの高地にあり、日本で最も標高の高い蒸留所として有名です。
マルス信州蒸留所を所有している本坊酒造は、1980年代の地ウイスキーブームの火付け役とも言われてます。
その後、酒税法改正により国内にウイスキー冬の時代が訪れ、数多くのウイスキーメーカーが廃業や生産中止に追い込まれました。
マルス信州蒸留所も例に漏れず、1992年から2011年まで休止しています。
『シングルカスク駒ヶ岳29年』は休止前である1988年に蒸留され、駒ヶ岳の麓で大事に熟成し、不況の時代を乗り越えて、現代にスポットライトを浴びることになりました。
非常に希少な原酒をシングルカスクでボトリングしています。
当時蒸留に使われていたポットスチルは、岩井式ポットスチルと呼ばれており、これは竹鶴政孝がスコットランドから帰ってきて提出した『竹鶴ノート』を元に岩井喜一郎氏が作り上げたポットスチルです。日本のウイスキー史としても非常に象徴的なものですが、経年劣化により2014年に新しいポットスチルへと入れ替えられてますので、もう同じ原酒は新しく造られることが無く、大変貴重なボトルと言えます。
特徴的なラベルデザインは、葛飾北斎が信州で手掛けた東町祭屋台天井図『龍図』を北斎記念館より特別に許可をいただいて採用された、信州の文化と情熱のこもった一本です。
販売開始後わずか1時間で完売するほど人気で、貴重かつ希少なこちらのボトルは、決してお安くはないですが、いずれこの世から失われていく儚いものです。

Komagatake Aged 29 years is a limited release in 2017 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the private bottling series.
Komagatake is produced by the Mars Shinshu Distillery in Nagano Prefecture, which is located at an altitude of about 800m and is famous as the highest altitude distillery in Japan.
Honbo Sake Brewery, which owns the Mars Shinshu Distillery, is said to have sparked the local whisky boom in the 1980s.
After that, revisions to the Liquor Tax Law brought a whisky winter in Japan, forcing many whisky makers to go out of business or cease production.
Mars Shinshu Distillery is no exception and has been closed from 1992 to 2011.
“Single Cask Komagatake Aged 29 years Old” was distilled in 1988, before it was suspended, aged carefully at the foot of Mt.
A very rare unblended whisky is bottled in a single cask.
The pot still used for distillation at that time was called the Iwai-style pot still, which was created by Mr. Kiichiro Iwai based on the “Taketsuru Note” submitted by Masataka Taketsuru after returning from Scotland. It is very symbolic in the history of Japanese whisky, but due to deterioration over time, it was replaced with a new pot still in 2014, so the same unblended whisky will never be made again, making it a very valuable bottle. .
The characteristic label design is a piece of Shinshu culture and passion, which was adopted by Hokusai Katsushika’s Higashimachi Festival float ceiling drawing “Ryuzu” with special permission from the Hokusai Memorial Hall.
